The Volkswagen Group wants to increase its own contribution in automotive software development to more than 60 percent by 2025. The Car.Software organization, which became an independent business unit as of January 1, 2020, is of crucial importance in achieving this goal. It has its origin at the Audi Electronics Venture GmbH, the now former Valtech Mobility joint venture partner. That makes this collaboration, now operating as a joint venture between Valtech and the Volkswagen Group, one of the major players of the strategy.

The Car.Software organization develops cross-brand software in the following five domains: “Connected Car & Device Platform”, “Intelligent Body & Cockpit”, “Automated Driving”, “Vehicle Motion & Energy” and “Digital Business & Mobility Services”.

The Volkswagen Group and Valtech GmbH have been working together since 2009. We are more than happy to now intensify this partnership even further and contribute our over 20 years of experience in the field of connected cars in order to jointly implement this cross-brand platform, as well as new business models and mobility services for all VW Group brands and bring them to series.
