On 04. and 05. May the Versicherungsforum took place in Leipzig.

The conference’s main goal was the exchange between insurers, data analytics, telematics experts and solution providers on the following topics:

• trends in smart mobility and their direct impact on the insurance industry
• Progress and learnings in pilot projects around smart insurance
• Sharing of insights regarding current solutions on the market
• Options to use connected car data for usage-based insurance

We illustrated the potentials and key success factors of leveraging connected car data for smart insurance use cases like PHYD (pay-how-you-drive). This is what we are doing with “ridewise”, a full-service solution to enable PHYD for millions of existing vehicles without installing any additional hardware.

Engaging with industry experts provided an ideal networking and knowledge exchange environment with fruitful discussions about the current challenges and opportunities.
